Teaching Literacy

My Practicum Reflection

Click below for my complete reflection but here is a small sneak peek:

"I was overjoyed for the opportunity to work with English language learners at a junior high school. Every day I went to practicum, the students brought me endless amounts of joy, and I would leave with a massive smile on my face."

Lesson Plan

Lesson 1: Vocabulary Expansion

Taboo

Lesson 2: Sentence Structure

Roll and Write

Lesson 3: Nouns and Adjectives

Mad Libs

During my EDTS 371 class practicum, I had the opportunity to teach two lessons. My practicum was unique in so many ways because I taught English Language Learners who were varied on many levels. Each week was unique.

The first lesson that I taught focused on expanding vocabulary for the purpose of story writing. The second lesson I taught was specifically aimed to engage students to focus on sentence structure. The third lesson focused on adjectives specifically targeting adding details to writing.
